Silverlight and HTML5 Sessions Coming to DevConnections Las Vegas: Oct 31–Nov 3

It’s challenging to keep up with all of the new technologies coming out so I’m really looking forward to the upcoming DevConnections conference in Las Vegas (Oct. 31 – Nov 3). It’s fun to go to a conference where I can jump into an ASP.NET MVC or jQuery session, listen to some SharePoint, Silverlight or Azure sessions, or as a bonus attend sessions on HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript patterns. It’s nice to have all of those choices at one conference.

While at DevConnections I’ll be giving a full-day Silverlight workshop focused on technologies developers need to know to build line of business (LOB) applications. I’ll touch on several different key technologies and techniques that Silverlight developers should know such as data binding, WCF RIA Services, using the MVVM pattern and more. I really enjoy presenting workshops since I get to know people a lot more over the course of a day, and I get to hear about various business problems they’re trying to solve. If you’ll be building Silverlight applications, then this workshop will provide a great jumpstart to help you be productive right away.

In addition to the workshop, there will also be several other great topics covered at Silverlight Connections, such as:

• New features in Silverlight 5
• Integrating data into Silverlight applications
• Expression Blend features
• Windows Phone 7 “Mango”
• Key Concepts for building LOB applications
• More!

I’ll also present several sessions on different HTML5, jQuery and JavaScript topics. Although I work a lot with Silverlight, I like to stay well-balanced and spend quite a bit of time with other technologies as well. I’ll provide more info on these sessions soon.

DevConnections is always a blast so I hope to see you there!
