Perenthia, a persistent browser based game, is accepting beta testers! Not much for screenshots yet, but check out the technology used:
Perenthia has been developed using a combination of Microsoft Technologies. The backend database is Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and makes heavy use of the XML Data Type. The game engine/server is programmed in C# 3.5 and is accessed from the core web site that is ASP.NET C# 3.5. The game client or user interface is programmed in Microsoft Silverlight, using C# in the XAML code behind pages.

This is something I dream about as a needed sample, and I’m guessing I’m not the only one.
“Adam, the community needs a game written in Silverlight to learn from. You need to take the next 6 months and just work on that game sample! Cancel your emails!”
*dream sequence*
Anyways, by checking out the FAQ you can see that it will be text-based and by definition is a PBBG. Doesn’t sound like it will be a WoW replacement (not that I am playing WoW, so i couldn’t replace it), but I signed up to be a beta tester.
For work purposes, of course.
